Large-scale Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv
During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
A number of civilians were wounded while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and faced problems to water systems, per reports from city officials.
Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.
Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.
"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.
The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.
A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.
Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
Local officials said the city experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and three other people were wounded.
The strikes follow evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which are occupied by Russian forces.
The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.
Government officials told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with assaults already affecting energy systems.
Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were preparing for more assaults.
